Medical Healthcare

During a visit to the doctor, a patient receives a prescription for medication. The doctor also proposes an additional visit with a specialist at a local hospital.

In SIRB terms the following transactions may take place

  1. The doctor enters the information about the medication into an internal system.
  2. The internal system sends a request to the SIRB Terminal to receive Healthcare Information from the patient.
  3. The patient approves the request using his digital identity by performing a digital signature.
  4. The SIRB Terminal forwards the request to the SIRB, which in its turn forwards it to the appropriate Healthcare data repositories.
  5. The data repository verifies the identity of the patient and provides the requested information.
  6. The internal system also publishes the prescription information in its own data repository.

Later:

  1. The patient visits a drugstore.

Meanwhile:

  1. The doctor has advised the hospital of the transfer and the hospital has entered an Offline request for the patient's healthcare information.
  2. The SIRB Terminal at the drugstore offers the patient to answer the Offline request from the hospital.
